The Gibraltar-Israel Chamber of Commerce had the honour to host Dr. Abraham Haim, president of the centuries-old Council of Sephardi and Oriental Communities of Jerusalem.
Dr. Haim delivered a lecture on the 750 years anniversary to the Sephardi Jewish community of Jerusalem.
He presented a brief history of the Four Sephardi Synagogues of Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter, and of the Council of the Sephardi and Oriental Community of Jerusalem. It is estimated that there are 3.5 million Sephardi Jews worldwide, who originated from Spain, including the Gibraltar Jewish community who is predominantly Sephardic. Amongst attendees were Minister John Cortes and David Benaim-Honorary Consul of Israel.
